Multiple positions available in translational bioenergetics and aging research
NIH funded Postdoctoral Fellowships and Research Associate positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony Molina, at the University of California San Diego, School of Medicine. The Molina lab is engaged in translational mitochondrial bioenergetics research focused on aging and age-related diseases and conditions such as Alzheimer’s and physical function decline.
Successful candidates will join a dynamic research environment within the Department of Medicine (DOM) and will have access to scientific and career/life opportunities in the broader San Diego research community. The DOM is the largest department within the UC San Diego School of Medicine (SOM) and is responsible for fulfilling its teaching, research, and clinical missions. The DOM employs approximately 500 salaried faculty, nearly 200 academic appointees, and more than 300 residents, fellows, and postdocs, supported by almost 1,000 staff members.
Ph.D. or MD degree for postdoctoral fellowships
Research Associates will be considered at all ranks.
Expertise in mitochondrial physiology.
Expertise in neurodegenerative diseases, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell culture (preferred).
Primary publications in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating research excellence.
Highly motivated to learn, explore, engage, and communicate.
Salary commensurate with NIH pay scale (Fellows) or experience (Associates). Excellent University of California benefits.
